What are Antioxidants
Antioxidants are substances that protect cells in your body from free radical damage occurring from exposure to certain chemicals, smoking, pollution, radiation, and as a byproduct of normal metabolism.
Dietary antioxidants include selenium, vitamin A and related carotenoids, vitamins C and E, plus various phytochemicals such as lycopene, lutein, and quercetin.

You can find antioxidants in many different foods, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and whole grains and smaller amounts of antioxidants in meats, poultry, and fish. Junk foods and highly processed fast foods tend to be much lower in antioxidants -
Research Hot Coffee has more Antioxidants than Cold Brew

In a new study researchers compared the acidic and antioxidant activity of cold and hot coffee and found differences between them
Researchers at the University found that hot brew has high level of oxidants which are believed to be responsible for some of the health benefits of coffee. While the PH balance was similar, Fuller and Rao, the researchers found that the hot brew coffee had more total titratable acids which might be responsible for the high antioxidant quality of hot brew
"Coffee has a lot of antioxidants, if you drink it in moderation, research shows it can be pretty good for you," Fuller said. "We found the hot brew has more antioxidant capacity."

The study was conducted by the coffee drinkers Megan Fuller and Niny Rao, Faculty at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University)
